Summerland Ice Halo Junior Funspiel

Hello Ice Halo Team!

 

Well our Summerland Ice Halo Junior Funspiel was again a big success. We had 8 teams (3 from Summerland, 3 from Penticton, 2 from Kelowna), which was just right for our 4-sheet rink. Kids played 3 games of 4 ends each. We gave toonies for wins, and a ton of medals. The final 4 games in the afternoon were all medal games: 1 team won gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze. Everyone got a $5 gift card for A&W and a coupon donated by A&W for free fries. There was a lot of excitement and lots of smiles. At times it was very very loud on the ice.

 

I’ve attached a couple of photos and a summary of our costs. I’ve also submitted an article to the local newspaper and will send you a copy if they publish it. In my welcome talk I told everyone about Ice Halo’s sponsorship and that all of our Summerland juniors wear Ice Halo protective caps or toques. A couple of parents from other clubs talked to me later about your caps. I told them to look on your website. They were surprised by all the choices the kids have. I told them that the kids are excited to get their new caps and wear them willingly, and that protective headgear is a project that local service clubs like to back.
